Established: July 1, 2007 by the Florida Legislature (Senate Bill 506)

Purpose: Improve mobility and transportation options for passengers and freight throughout the seven-county region.

Region: Seven Tampa Bay Area counties: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota

  • Five Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs)

Board Members (16): Seven County Commission appointees & four gubernatorial appointees; largest city served by HART; largest city served by PSTA; largest cities in Manatee and Sarasota; West Central Florida Chair’s Coordinating Committee (CCC) appointee; Florida Department of Transportation (non- voting member).

Committees: Transit Management Committee, Citizens Advisory Committee, Land Use Working Group (now known as the ONE BAY Livable Communities Working Group)

Staff Services: TBARTA provides staff services to the Citrus County TPO and the West Central Florida MPOs Chairs Coordinating Committee (CCC).
