Transit Oriented Development (TOD) station area "typology" recognizes the important differences between places and destinations within regions, and then identifies appropriate performance and descriptive benchmarks for these places. The types of projects that might be appropriate in older neighborhoods close to downtown are different from those that might work in newly growing areas.
The Land Use Working Group (LUWG) has developed Station Typologies for Short Distance Rail, and will be asked to develop typologies for other transit types. The TOD Resource Guide will include Station Typologies for the TBARTA region to help establish a vision for development in the variety of districts surrounding stations.
